Lion Book Review

Lion is an outstanding book and I recommend it to everyone who is interested in learning about determination, resilience, courage and staying calm. It starts out with a boy from a poor village in India named (Saroo) who gets lost on a journey. He has no way of getting home but more importantly no way of remembering of how to get home because he is only five years of age. Think of it this way, your five years old and you somehow get lost from your family and friends. What would you do? That is exactly what young Saroo thought to himself at the time when he got lost. He then began to wander around homeless and nowhere to go or sleep. After some time, he wandered up to an orphanage and was adopted by a family in Australia with many other children. Some time then passes in the book and Saroo is having flashbacks and is wanting to return back to his home. He has no way of remembering where he lives but he does remember one thing, the train he was on. I do not want to spoil much more because I 100% recommend reading this book. In the end Saroo uses a program “Google Earth” and attempt to find his way home. I think the perseverance shown in this TRUE story makes the story grab you more and more. This is the type of book that will make you sit there forever and make you forget that you are reading because you can picture it so well.

BreakoutEDU Pax

Yesterday we did a Breakout EDU Friday September 29, 2016. We did a scavenger hunt/ Pax adventure. Pax is written by Sara Pennypacker and illustrated by Jon klassen.

We had to figure out two codes, one combo and one letters. I was more focused on the combo lock because I know how to work those looks.

It was really fun and all of my class had a great time especially when we unlocked it. Personally the thing that went most well for me was finding all of the clues to get closer and closer to figuring out the code.

The thing that I found most trickey was cracking the lock but what made that easier was finding the clues. The thing that I would do next time is be more open and more observant.

Our Grade 6 Drop Everything And Read book

During the first week of school I have been reading, Trash by Andy Mulligan. I am only at part one of the book(51 pages in) and now I have 171 pages to go. I really enjoy this book because most of the books I read the author does not grab me because the exciting part is at the end and even if I get to the end I get bored of this book and i feel like quitting the book. The characters have very funny personalities and humor. There  are three main characters, their names are Raphael, Gardo and Rat. The most interesting part so far, WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!!

When they get 600 and 500 dollars and the police want the special thing back. I am saying special key because it will give it away too much. To be honest this is one of the best books I’ve ever read. One of my favourite lines is “One day I hope you’ll find something big.” “And one day I did.” When Raphael Gardo and Rat are telling their story. On a scale of one to ten I rate this a 8 1/2. I hope you will read this book.
